With proper aftercare, a tattoo can complete its first phase of healing between 2-4 weeks. however, it takes time for it to fully settle into the skin after the scabbing has peeled away. Always make sure you are well rested, hydrated, and have a proper meal at least one hour before your appointment. Properly hydrating, and exfoliating the skin the night before is always recommended for a better experience! Clean, comfortable clothing is key. We greatly appreciate mindfulness of others while in the shop, so please bring headphones and give a heads up if you’ll have a plus one. Refraining from alcohol at least 24 hours before your appointment decreases the chance of dizziness or nausea due to increased bleeding, and helps keep everyone safe from cross contamination as well.
We have aftercare instructions highlighted on our instagram, and our artist always make sure to give a detailed description of the do’s and dont’s to ensure your tattoo heals as beautifully as it can before you leave the shop. Feel free to reach out at any time if you have questions!
No, our artists do not tattoo women who are pregnant or breast feeding. This is generally a preventative measure, however due to the risk of infection and other factors that have been considered you will need to wait until your baby is born and you are no longer breast feeding.
For some people, tattoos hurt more than for others. Tattooing is a personal experience and you are best to be prepared for it mentally. Our artists will ensure that you are as comfortable as possible. If you wish to use numbing cream please let your artist know before hand as different brands can affect the outcome of the tattoo.
Yes. Although, it depends on the artist and what you want to cover your existing tattoo with. Not all cover ups will work, so you will need to come in for a consultation with your preferred artist to discuss the idea. Your artist may recommend laser removal before hand which is always in your best interest for the final outcome of your desired tattoo. Trust that your artist knows best!
